This short film introduces us to open water swimming through the experiences of a group of people who have recently gone through the process of becoming open water swimmers themselves. Hear about their fear, doubts and struggles and how they overcame those to become open water enthusiasts. These are real people with real experiences – not actors reading from a script.
The personal stories are backed up by coaching and learning points from Robert Hamilton of Vigour Swim – a swimming teacher and coach with 23 years experience.
The film is aimed primarily at swimmers new to open water looking to build their confidence and skills ready to take on an open water challenge.
Later films in the series will introduce more advanced open water swimming skills such as developing speed, training for long distance solo challenges or learning to cope with winter swimming temperatures.
