You may remember a few months ago Becky told us all about her 1000 Mile Challenge. Well she has successfully completed her Challenge and here are some swimming highlights !
Becky biked 1,000 miles, and swam 15km in open water and climbed the 3 biggest mountains along the route.
Wow well three weeks of adventure has come to an end. It has been a fantastic experience Angela and I have learnt loads for the future.... we have seen stunning scenery and not so stunning scenery, we have experienced great support, friendship and some brilliant experiences. We to date have raised £550 for Tri Harman and £ 8000 for The Lullaby Trust and Big C. None of this could have been achieved without the support of family and friends. So Angela Beard you have been a star and have been the main reason i kept going as you stood at the top of hills in the rain shouting keep going. Thank you to your family Emma Charlotte and Ellie for all their support.
Day 11. Wow Wow Wow. A fantastic day that started with a cycle with Angela to Luss then the 1st of the 3 5k swims. What fantastic support thank you to Robert Hamilton for leading the way and choosing the route. Phia Steyn for swimming with me and im in awe of all your achievements. Linzi Luther-veitch and her daughter, Paula McGrath and Hubby for supporting the swim. It was great. And Angela awesome work your swim. Just a great day. Tonight we have been joined by Tessa Morgan and John Morgan for the next two days of fun.
Day 16. Whoopeeee what an experience. Couldnt swim in Windermere due to weather. Derwentwater had blue algae so we swam 5k in Buttermere. The coldest and choppiest swim i have ever done but too date the best swim. We swam the circuit of Buttermere just amazing. On every stroke the views of the mountains were amazing and my favourite saying came into.my head when i needed to dig deep. Lift up mine eyes until the hills from whence come my strength. Massive thanks to Robert Hamilton for your guiding and support. However i think Angela Beard now deserves the biggest medal as she had to undress and dress me as i had no function in my fingers due to the cold. Thank you Angela. Also.massive thanks to the walkers who sponsored us.
Please note the weekday sessions are now finished as the reservoir has been drained for maintenance.
